Haryana 4 IPS Reshuffle; DGP-Level Changes Place Ajay Singhal IPS at Vigilance Bureau

Indian Bureaucracy News, Chandigarh, December 01, 2025 | The Haryana Government has transferred four senior IPS officers, including two at the DGP rank and two at the ADGP rank, in an administrative reshuffle across vigilance, enforcement and litigation functions of the state police. Shri Ajay Singhal IPS (Haryana 1992), currently serving as Director General of Police, Human Rights and Litigation, has been appointed DGP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. He is among the senior-most officers in the cadre and belongs to the same batch as the acting head of the state police, Shri Om Prakash Singh IPS.

The changes coincide with wider adjustments in the state administration, including modifications in the Sports Department following the deaths of two young athletes. Shri Navdeep Singh Virk, an IPS officer of 1994 batch, who served as Principal Secretary to the Government of Haryana’s Sports department, until his recent shift from the department, has now been posted back to a policing assignment as part of these broader administrative changes. The post of Principal Secretary, Sports—traditionally held by senior IAS officers—had briefly been assigned in 2020 to then ADGP and current acting DGP Shri Om Prakash Singh, reflecting the government’s focus on sports-led youth engagement at the time.

With the latest reassignments, the Sports Department has returned to IAS leadership, while the IPS reshuffle positions senior officers across core vigilance, enforcement and supervisory roles.

Details of the officers with their present and new postings is listed below.

1. Shri Ajay Singhal IPS (Haryana 1992), presently Director General of Police (DGP), Human Rights and Litigation, Haryana, is transferred and appointed as DGP – State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Haryana, relieving Shri Alok Mittal (Haryana 1993).
2. Shri Alok Mittal IPS (Haryana 1993), presently DGP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau with additional charge of Resident Commissioner, Haryana, is transferred and appointed as Managing Director – Haryana Police Housing Corporation, with additional charge of Resident Commissioner of Haryana, relieving Shri Om Prakash Singh (Haryana 1992) from Haryana Police Housing Corporation.
3. Shri Navdeep Singh Virk IPS (Haryana 1994), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) – Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, with additional charge of Director – Vigilance and Security, Haryana Police Units (HPUs), Headquarters, Panchkula, relieving Shri Amitabh Dhillon (Haryana 1997).
4. Smt Kala Ramachandran IPS (Haryana 1994), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as ADGP – Human Rights and Litigation, Haryana, relieving Shri Ajay Singhal IPS (Haryana 1992).
