Department has been transferred and posted as Joint Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal.
The Joint Chief Electoral Officer (Jt. CEO), West Bengal functions under the supervision of the Chief Electoral Officer and the Election Commission of India, assisting in the efficient conduct of elections across the state. The office is responsible for planning, coordination, and monitoring of all election-related activities, including voter registration, revision of electoral rolls, and implementation of the Model Code of Conduct. It also plays a vital role in SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programs aimed at enhancing voter awareness and participation.
The Joint CEO oversees the management and security of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs, ensures accessibility for all voters, and coordinates with district election officers and law enforcement agencies. The office works to uphold the values of transparency, neutrality, and efficiency, ensuring free and fair elections throughout West Bengal in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India.
