Shri Gyanendra Pratap Singh IPS (Assam- Meghalaya 1991) presently Special DGP (Law and Order) , has been appointed as Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam. Shri Singh will take over from Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta IPS (Assam- Meghalaya 1988), who retires at the end of this month.
