Gujarat Govt Transfers 105 Senior Police Officers; District-wise Details Inside

Indian Bureaucracy, Gandhinagar, August 18, 2025| In a major reshuffle, the Gujarat government has transferred and reassigned 105 senior police officers of IPS and SPS cadres across the state. The changes cover key urban centres including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot, along with districts in South Gujarat, Central–North Gujarat, and Saurashtra–Kutch. The postings range from district police chiefs to specialised units such as cybercrime, economic offences, intelligence and prison administration. By encompassing both metropolitan and district-level leadership, the overhaul marks one of the most extensive statewide exercises in recent years, impacting operational command across all regions.

Gandhinagar recorded the highest number of transfers with 20 officers, followed by Ahmedabad (19), Surat (13), Vadodara (11), and Rajkot (7). For meaningful assimilation of this large-scale reshuffle, the data has been categorised in two formats: city-wise, covering the major urban centres, and zone-wise, divided into Central & North Gujarat, South Gujarat, and Saurashtra–Kutch. This arrangement provides a clearer view of individual movements within key cities as well as the broader reallocation of responsibilities across regions.
