The Central Government has re-appointed Shri U.K. Sinha to the post of Chairman, SEBI with effect from 18.02.2016 to 01.03.2017 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri U K Sinha, a 1976 batch Bihar cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer will become the second longest serving chief of Sebi, marked by some important milestones—from landmark orders against companies such as the erstwhile Satyam Computer Services Ltd and DLF Ltd to a clampdown on collective investment schemes and a bruising battle with Sahara Group over money raised through the illegal sale of securities.

IndianBureaucracy.com wishes Shri Sinha the very best.
