Former Member of Bihar Legislative Council Shri Ganga Prasad has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya. Shri Ganga Prasad was elected for the first time as the Member of Legislative Council, MLC in Bihar in 1994. He remained as MLC for 18 years.
He has served in various capacities such as the the leader of the BJP in the Legislative Council, Shri Ganga Prasad has also been the leader of the opposition for five years in the Legislative Council.During the earlier NDA regime , he served as the leader of the Bihar Legislative Council for the ruling party and subsequently as the Deputy leader of the ruling party.
