G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion Meeting Set for September 14-16, 2023, in Mumbai

The Fourth G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Meeting will place in Mumbai from September 14 to 16, 2023. This gathering includes representatives from over 50 delegates representing G20 member countries, special invitee nations, and international organizations. Discussions during the meeting will center on the ongoing financial inclusion agenda under the G20 India Presidency, with a focus on Digital Financial Inclusion and SME Finance.

Prior to the meeting, a symposium on “Digital Public Infrastructure for Empowering MSMEs” is scheduled for September 14, 2023. The symposium will feature panel discussions led by global experts on two key themes: “Boosting MSMEs for Enhanced Economic Growth through Digital Public Infrastructure” and “Credit Guarantees and SME Ecosystems.” This event will explore the role of DPI in accelerating the financial inclusion of MSMEs.

Over the following two days, GPFI members will address topics including the implementation of G20 GPFI High-Level Principles for Digital Financial Inclusion, updates on National Remittance Plans, and sharing best practices and innovative approaches for overcoming common challenges in SME financing.

Additionally, a symposium on “Advancing Financial Inclusion through Digital Public Infrastructure: Empowering Consumers through Digital and Financial Literacy and Consumer Protection” is planned for September 16, 2023, as part of the GPFI Meeting.

During their time in Mumbai, delegates attending the 4th GPFI WG meeting will also have the opportunity to visit the Kanheri Caves.
