FICCI has been organising its annual flagship event FICCI HEAL since 2007, supported by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Over the years it has evolved as a landmark and coveted Healthcare Conference in the country for health industry stakeholders to share knowledge and best practices. The conference is a conglomeration of CEO’s, policy makers, national and international leaders from healthcare and allied industries. It has endeavored to address key issues in healthcare and to create a credible platform for constructive dialogue and deliberation to work towards betterment of the sector.
The central theme of the 12th edition, FICCI HEAL 2018 is “Healthcare at Crossroads”. While India celebrates success of many complex healthcare procedures at a fractional cost as compared to developed countries, a large proportion of the country’s population struggles with catastrophic health expenditures. As the government envisions aspirational reforms in healthcare and moves closer to assuming the role of a payor through the newly launched Ayushman Bharat Program, it is critical to ensure that the increase in healthcare spending translates into better health outcomes and ascertain the role of other stakeholders on the path towards Universal Health Coverage.
