The Minister of State for Statistics & Programme Implementation (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for External Affairs and Oversees Indian Affairs General (Dr) V.K. Singh flags off a truck of relief material to Nepal from his residence in New Delhi . Speaking to New persons later he said the very quick response by the Prime Minister to order relief operations to be undertaken by the Prime Minister in Nepal had helped. The Minister said that five trucks of relief material had earlier been sent in the recent past. This truck which is sponsored by Chennai Goods Transport Association Charitable trust is carrying 1500 blankets, 700 tents 3.5 tons of Rice and pulses 18000 pieces of soaps.
The Minister said that because of some water bottles getting crushed when they are sent with other material it has been decided them to send them separately from food material.
