Dr. Urjit R. Patel who is presently posted as Deputy RBI Governor Government of India, has been re-appointed as Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India for another period of three years (till 2018) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Dr. Urjit R. Patel was appointed as Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India in January 7, 2013.
During his long and illustrious carrier spanning over 18 years in financial, energy and infrastructure sectors, he has served as the Chief Policy Officer at IDFC Limited, as a Consultant to the Ministry of Power as well at IMF. Dr. Patel is Doctorate (Ph.D) in Economics from Yale University and is a graduate of the University of London and Oxford.
