Dr. Rachna Honored with Young Scientist Award at International Extension Education Congress
Dr. Rachna, Assistant Professor in the Department of Dairy Business Management at the College of Dairy Science and Technology, Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar, has been conferred the ‘Young Scientist Award’ at the 2nd International Extension Education Congress organized by the Society of Extension Education. The congress was held from 24th to 26th November, 2025 at the Institute of Education and Research (SOA), Bhubaneswar.
The prestigious award, presented by the Executive Committee of the Society of Extension Education, is a significant recognition of Dr. Rachna’s academic contribution, research achievements, and dedicated efforts in extension services. Her innovative work in integrating dairy extension, women empowerment, and socio-environmental sustainability has been highly appreciated.
Her research and field initiatives, focused on capacity building of rural women engaged in dairy enterprises and promoting value addition in dairy systems, have received wide acclaim for their originality, practical relevance, and high research quality. Through her research, training programmes, and outreach activities, Dr. Rachna has demonstrated how innovation and experimentation can bring positive changes in rural communities—helping dairy women of Haryana improve their livelihoods and contribute to socio-environmental development.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of LUVAS, Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar Verma, and the Dean of the College, Dr. S. B. Patil, congratulated Dr. Rachna on this remarkable achievement.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Verma stated that this recognition is a matter of great pride for the university and reflects the hard work, innovative spirit, and strong commitment of LUVAS scientists towards societal development.
