Three nos. 155 mm x 45 Calibre Artillery gun ‘Dhanush’ have been handed over to Indian Army in June 2016, for undertaking user exploitation. Special features of Dhanush guns are:
• 8 km more range than BOFORS Gun.
• Modified Double Baffle Muzzle Brake.
• Modified Loading Trough to accommodate Bi Modular Charge System (BMCS).
• Electronic Suite to include an Enhanced Tactical Computer (ETC), Intertial Navigation System (INS), Muzzle Velocity Radar (MVR) and Automatic Gun Sighting System (AFSS) for enhanced accuracy and auto laying of the gun.
An indent of quantity 114 guns has already been placed on Ordnance Factory Board (OFB).
