Department of Biotechnology Special Campaign 3.0 to Minimizing Pendency and Promoting Efficiency

During the period of December 2022 to July 2023, the Department of Biotechnology achieved substantial reductions in pendency across various matters, including MP references (65%), Parliamentary Assurances (85%), PMO references (90%), IMC references (100%), and public grievances (88%).

Additionally, the department implemented several best practices during this period, including the launch of the Biological Research Regulatory Approval Portal (BioRRAP), which serves as a single-window platform for all biological research regulatory approvals across scientific ministries and departments. The department also focused on delayering decision-making processes, migrated to e-office version 7.0, and aimed for 100% e-receipts and e-files.

The department is committed to further reducing pendency and ensuring cleanliness (Swachhata) in its premises, as well as in all its autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings (PSUs). To encourage active participation in the upcoming Special Campaign 3.0 (SCDPM 3.0), the department organized a sensitization meeting with officers of the department, autonomous bodies, and PSUs on September 5, 2023.
