Delhi government has called off its Odd-Even car rationing scheme proposed from tomorrow. The decision was taken yesterday at a meeting called by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, following National Green Tribunal, NGT order denying exemption for two-wheelers and women drivers.

The tribunal also said the odd-even scheme can be implemented when PM10 level is above 500 micrograms per cubic metre and PM2.5 above 300 micrograms per cubic metre. Briefing reporters Delhi, Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said the government is not ready to compromise with the safety of women.

Mr Gahlot said, Delhi government will file a review application in the matter before NGT tomorrow. Earlier, the Delhi government had announced to implement the odd-even scheme from Monday to Friday.
