Information and broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated newly constructed studio complex of All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendra Dehradun.
The Minister also launched regional news unit of DD news and AIR Dehradun Station. In his address on this occasion Shri. Naidu congratulated the people of Uttarakhand and said that with the launch of this station, a long pending demand of this region has been full filled. Shri Naidu announced that Doordarshan Kendra, Dehradun will be functional 24×7 within a year.
He said that besides programs in Hindi and English, most programs will be broadcast in the regional languages of Garwhali, Kumoni and Jaunsari. The regional new bulletin of DDK, Dehradun will be telecast at 6.30 PM from today on Terrestrial Mode. One more Hindi Bulletin will be telecast on satellite mode from July 15 at 8 PM and it will be relayed by DDK Lucknow.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said on the occasion that with the launch of this center, the culture and tradition of Uttarakhand will get wider identification, besides broadcast of reliable news. In addition to this communication with the masses will be quicker at times of natural calamities. He said that the Prime Minister’s program Man Ki Baat has made the All India Radio more lively.
