IOFS Deepak Srivastava given extension as Director – Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
Shri Deepak Srivastava IOFS (2008) presently Director in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been given extension for a period of two years beyond 12.03.2026 and up to 12.03.2028 by The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Shri Deepak Srivastava is on central deputation w.e.f. 13.03.2021.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) is one of the most critical economic Ministries of the Government of India, responsible for ensuring the country’s energy security, regulating hydrocarbon resources, and facilitating sustainable growth in the oil and gas sector. Policies supporting compressed natural gas (CNG), piped natural gas (PNG), and LNG-based transport further reinforce the Ministry’s clean energy mission.
MoPNG also spearheads flagship initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), which has transformed millions of households by providing access to clean cooking fuel.
