With an illustrious career marked by diverse international postings and leadership roles, he brings with him vast experience, diplomatic acumen, and a proven commitment to strengthening India’s global engagements.
Shri Miglani is presently serving as Ambassador of India to the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome & Principe, a responsibility he assumed on 4th December 2023. Prior to this assignment, he was Director of the Passport Seva Programme at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi, where he played an instrumental role in enhancing India’s citizen-centric services abroad. A graduate of the University of Delhi, he has consistently demonstrated a blend of intellectual clarity, organizational skills, and leadership.
His diplomatic career has been enriched by multiple prestigious foreign assignments. Between 2018 and 2021, he served as the Consul General of India in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he significantly advanced India-Russia bilateral relations at the regional level. Earlier, he held the positions of Consul General of India in Erbil, Iraq, and Kandahar, Afghanistan, showcasing resilience and diplomacy in challenging geopolitical contexts. His other international assignments included postings in Kabul, Bangkok, Ashgabat, and Beijing, each adding to his rich professional portfolio.
At the MEA headquarters, Shri Miglani served with distinction as Deputy Chief of Protocol (Facilities) from 2011 to 2013 and contributed meaningfully to the External Publicity and Disarmament Divisions. His breadth of experience across multilateral, bilateral, and administrative roles underscores his versatility as a diplomat.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Shri Miglani enjoys swimming, trekking, and reading. He is married to Smt. Seema Miglani, and together they are raising their children, Vandana and Aditya.
