Dr. Devendra Kumar Tiwari IAS (Jharkhand 1986) presently Development Commissioner- Jharkhand, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Jharkhand vice Shri Sudhir Tripathi IAS. Dr Tiwari Born in 1960 in Mahoba of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh Mr Tiwari had his initial schooling at Mahoba and later at Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh.
He completed his MBBS from the prestigious Kings George Medical College from Lucknow and also did his MA in development economics from the University of Manchester and also completed LLB from Chottanagpur Law College, Ranchi. Dr Tiwari has served on many important positions in the state including serving as secretaries of the various department while he also served as the Principal Secretary to the Jharkhand Chief Minister between 2010-.2013.
Later he also went on to serve as Principal Secretary HRD and was also appointed as principal resident Commissioner at Jharkhand Bhawan in New Delhi from 2014 to 2017. After returning from Delhi, he was made the Additional Chief Secretary of the Labour and water resources department in May 2018 while on June 7, 2018 he was appointed as the Development Commissioner of the state.
