Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh presently General Manager (M), Coal India Limited has been selected as Chairman & Managing Director- Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited .
Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, an accomplished mining professional with over three decades of experience in the coal sector, has been selected as the Chairman and Managing Director of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI). Presently serving as General Manager (M) at Coal India Limited, Shri Singh has made significant contributions to the mining industry through his technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to sustainable mining practices.
An alumnus of IIT (BHU), Varanasi, Shri Singh holds a B.Tech. in Mining Engineering (1986–1990), laying a strong foundation for his career in the mining and energy sector. His academic journey reflects a constant pursuit of professional excellence. He earned a Project Appraisal & Risk Management (PARM) certification from Duke University’s DCID in 2010, further strengthening his analytical and decision-making skills. In 2018, he completed an International Executive Diploma in Project Management from The George Washington University, in association with i2P2M, where he was awarded the CIPM with Distinction and CrtPRM certifications.
Throughout his career, Shri Singh has demonstrated exemplary leadership in operational efficiency, project execution, and strategic planning across various subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. His deep understanding of mine planning, safety management, and risk assessment has contributed immensely to enhancing productivity and sustainability in coal operations.
As he assumes charge as CMD of CMPDI, Shri Singh is expected to bring a progressive vision to the organization, steering it toward innovation, environmental responsibility, and technological modernization. His appointment is seen as a recognition of his technical proficiency, managerial acumen, and unwavering dedication to the mining industry.
