Shri Chandrashekhar Nayaka L IAS (Karnataka 2013) has been appointed as Officer on
Special Duty to the Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs (Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman) in
the Ministry of Finance at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period of four years .
An alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, he holds a B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering with First Class distinction. Shri Nayaka’s administrative career spans a decade and includes a range of significant responsibilities across governance sectors.
He is currently serving as Regional Commissioner (Deputy Secretary level) with a focus on Land Revenue Management and District Administration since September 2023. Earlier, he held a long and impactful tenure in the Panchayats Department in Uttara Kannada district from 2016 to 2023, contributing to the strengthening of local self-governance. His central deputation includes a brief stint at the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry in 2015.
Having begun his IAS journey with rigorous training at LBSNAA, Mussoorie, Shri Nayaka is known for his diligent administrative approach and commitment to public service. His new role places him at the heart of India’s financial policy-making.
