Centre notifies 48 Joint Secretary Appointments in a major reshuffle in Indian Bureaucracy

In a significant development in Indian Bureaucracy Latest News, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a total of 48 appointments at the level of Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary equivalent, reinforcing the administrative framework at the senior policymaking tier. These appointments, made at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, reflect the government’s continued focus on strengthening governance through experienced and capable officers drawn from diverse services and backgrounds. 1. Shri Kapil Meena IAS (SK:2010) has been appointed as MD, National Horticulture Board (NHB), Department of Agriculture & FW for a combined tenure of five years upto 17/01/2027 vice Shri B. Srinivas IAS (KL:1991), by cancelling the appointment of Shri Satyendra Singh IFoS (AM:1996) as MD, National Horticulture Board (NHB) vide ACC order No. 33/03/2022-EO(SM-l) dated 23.02.2022:
2. Shri G Venkatesh ICoAS (1997) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years v/ce Shri Deepak Mishra IFoS (KL:1996).

    of five years upto 03/04/2030. or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer from DS/Dir level to JS level in the Department for an initial period of two years;

Shri Vikas Singh IAS (TR:2010). as Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities  for a combined tenure of five years upto 27/04/2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer from DS/Director level in the Department to JS level;
13. Shri Girish Chandrashekhar Hosur IFoS (HP:1996). as Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, from the date of assumption of charge of the post beyond 27/04/2026 i.e. after the tenure of the present incumbent,
    for a tenure upto the date of superannuation on 31/10/2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of DS/Director level in the Department to JS level;
