A case of irregularity in the purchase of various types of Hume pipes was noticed in Project Vartak (44 BRTF) of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for which an internal Court of Inquiry has been ordered by BRO in October 2014. The Court of Inquiry has been finalized in May 2016 under the Orders of Director General Border Roads (DGBR). 10 Officers and 16 Subordinates are found to be responsible for the irregularities. Disciplinary / administrative action against these Officers and Subordinates has been ordered.

Inspection of works on roads is carried out regularly by the executives at Project, Task Force level and also by Regional Inspection Teams to ensure the quality of works.
