Responding to Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Swachh Bharat’ and to realise Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean India, Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has launched a cleanliness campaign, titled ‘Swachh Bharat Pakhwada’ from May 1 to 15, 2016. As part of the campaign, under the leadership of the BEL Management, employees took the ‘Swachhta Shapath’ and cleaned up their workplaces, office surroundings, removed weeds and other vegetation on the roadside and planted saplings.
At BEL’s Bangalore Complex, the programme was inaugurated by Mr Girish Kumar, Director (Bangalore Complex). Around 750 employees participated along with their families and organised a march past at the BEL Township in Bengaluru to create awareness on cleanliness, displaying placards and banners.
