Atanu Chakraborty appointed as DG – Directorate General of Hydrocarbons

Shri Atanu Chakraborty IAS (Gujarat 1985) presently posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Gujarat, has been appointed as Director General, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DG, DGH) in the level of Additional Secretary Government of India for a period of four years.

Shri Atanu Chakraborty is B.Sc. and has done his PG Diploma in Business Finance and MBA from UK in Business Administration.
He started his Indian bureaucracy career in 1987 as Assistant Collector and in his service , has served as Deputy
Secretary in Tribal Development Department, Gujarat (1989-90), District Development Officer of Vadodara (1990-91), Collector of Amreli ( 1991-1993), Managing Director of Gujarat  State Financial Services Ltd ,Ahmedabad (1993-95), Executive Director in Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited, Vadodara(1995-97), C E O in Infrastructure Development Corporation, Gujarat (1998-2000), Commissioner in Education Department  of Human Resource Dev Higher Education(2001), MD  in Drinking Water & Infrastructure (2001-02), Secretary in Tourism Department (2007-2008), Vice Chairman & C E O in Gujarat Maritime Board (2008-2009),MD in State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (2008-09), Secretary in Finance Department  (2009-11), MD of Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited, Vadodara (2011- 15), MD  in Energy & Petrochemicals ,Department of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited(2015).  He has served in Central Cadre in 2002-05 as Director in Ministry of Finance and Joint Secretary in Department of Expenditure (2005-07).
