Assam Reshuffle, Virendra Mittal Named Commissioner & Finance Secretary, Ashwini Kumar to Head IT

Indian Bureaucracy, Dispur, January 11, 2025|  The Government of Assam today notified transfer of senior IFoS officer K S P V Pavan Kumar along with several other IAS officers and a senior IRS officer in the state bureaucracy. Details of the officers along with their new role is listed below.

1. Shri K S P V Pavan Kumar IFoS (Assam Meghalaya 1992), presently, Special Secretary, Information Technology Department and Director, Directorate of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication (DITEC), Assam, is transferred and appointed as Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Afforestation), Office-of-the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of Forest Force (HoFF), Assam.
2. Shri Virendra Mittal IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2007), presently, Commissioner & Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment, Assam, with additional charge of Irrigation Departments and Project Director, ARIAS, and Project Officer, Assam Integrated River Basin Management project under PIU, ASDMA, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner & Secretary – Finance Department, Assam, with additional charge of  and Irrigation Department, Assam, and PD, ARIAS, and Project Officer, Assam Integrated River Basin Management project under PIU, ASDMA.
3. Smt Laya Madduri IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2010), presently, Secretary – Finance and Science, Technology and Climate Change, Assam, with additional charge of Managing Director, Assam Financial Corporation, is relieved from the additional charge of
   Secretary, Science, Technology and Climate Change Department, Assam.
4. Shri Ashwani Kumar IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2010), upon return from Central Deputation appointed as the Director – Directorate of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication (DITEC), Assam.
5. Shri Pallav Gopal Jha IAS (Assam Meghalaya2012), presently, Secretary – Finance Department and Commissioner of Taxes, Assam and Project Director, Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program, with additional charge of Project Director, JICA Assisted Guwahati Water Supplies Project, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Science, Technology and Climate Change Department and Project Director, Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program, with additional charge of Project Director – JICA Assisted Guwahati Water Supplies Project and Secretary – Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Assam.
6. Shri Jitu Doley IRS, Secretary – Finance Department and Commissioner of Excise, Assam is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Excise, Assam, with additional charge of Commissioner – Taxes, Assam.
