Shri Ashok Warrier, presently Ambassador of India to the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been concurrently accredited as the Ambassador of India to the Central African Republic, with residence in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo). He is expected to take up his assignment shortly.

Shri S.K. Ashok Warrier holds a Masters Degree in Political Science and International Relations. He has earlier served in different capacities in Beijing, Berlin, Brussels, Kuwait, Cairo, Manila and Riyadh.
He has handled different and varied aspects of diplomatic work covering Administration, Commercial, Consular, Culture, Education and Welfare besides stints at the headquarters in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

He has represented the Government of India in the International Energy Forum (IEF) in Riyadh. He was also the Observer for the Indian International Schools, with a combined strength of more than 50,000 students, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was till recently handling work relating to counter terrorism and has represented India in various international forums like the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the UNODC and the Global Counter Terrorism Forum (GCTF).
Ambassador Warrier is fond of reading and writing. He is an avid sports buff and takes a keen interest in sports like soccer, tennis, badminton and cricket. He is fond of listening to music. He is married to Ms Sunita Warrier. They have a son and a daughter.
