Anupam Raj ICAS appointed Integrated Financial Advisor – Assam Rifles
Shri Anupam Raj ICAS (2013) has been appointed as Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) (Deputy Secretary level) in Assam Rifles, Shillong on deputation basis under the Ministry of Home Affairs (CSS post) for a period of four years.
The Assam Rifles is one of India’s oldest and most distinguished paramilitary forces, established in 1835. Known as the “Sentinels of the Northeast,” it operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the operational control of the Indian Army. Its primary role is to maintain internal security, conduct counterinsurgency operations, and guard the Indo-Myanmar border.
The Assam Rifles has played a crucial role in ensuring stability in Northeast India, contributing to peace-building and development activities alongside security duties. It is also actively involved in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. Over the years, the force has earned numerous gallantry awards for its bravery and dedication. With its unique dual-control structure and deep regional presence, the Assam Rifles continues to be a vital pillar in safeguarding India’s strategic and sensitive northeastern frontier.
