Shri Anshuman Das presently Member , PESB has been given extension of additional charge of the post of Chairman, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) for a period till 31.03.2018. Shri Das has done his Mechanical Engineering from REC, Rourkela (Now National Institute of Technology) in 1976, and has done his MBA from University of Hull, United Kingdom with a British Council Scholarship under the Colombo Plan. He started his career as a management trainee with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and has also done a Post Graduation course in Aeronautical production from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai.
He joined NALCO in 1982 in the formative years. Shri Das has worked in various capacities in NALCO in areas of project commissioning, commercial and corporate governance. As the Director (Commercial) of NALCO he was instrumental in formation of various policies and strategies both for domestic and overseas marketing and for e-procurement initiatives, Integrity Pact, etc. He also served as Director (Finance) and Director (HR) of NALCO for a brief period and remained the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NALCO from August 29, 2012 to April 30, 2015. NALCO has achieved several milestones and accolades through the initiatives of Shri Das and his team. With his three decades long professional association with the Aluminium Industry, Shri Ansuman Das is very well known both nationally and internationally for his contribution to the industry. He was the Chairman, CII, Odisha State Council and was actively associated with several trade bodies and educational institutions. He joined as Member, PESB on 19.08.2015
