Shri Alok Tripathi IRTS (1999) presently Director (D&MC) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has been appointed to the post of Executive Director, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), New Delhi  for a period upto 04.10.2019.

Shri Alok Tripathi has Bachelors and Masters in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) .He joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) in 1999. The officers of IRTS undergo 18 months of foundation course in railways planning, operations, economics and general management. In over 10 years at senior administrative levels heading the operations in key Divisions of Indian Railways, Shri  Tripathi lead multidisciplinary teams of up to 2000 employees with responsibility for train operations, infrastructure & investment planning, new rail link connectivity to ports/oil refineries, capacity augmentation, project evaluation, passenger and freight business planning, traffic costing, railway safety, procurement/contracts, techno-economic feasibility of new technology/initiatives, human resource management and negotiations with trade unions. Building on my operating experience of railways, Shri Alok Tripathi sent on deputation to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas as a Director where his focus area has been cleaner fuel, reduction of subsidies for government through innovative programs and efficiency improvement in the area of distribution management for oil marketing companies through policy and operational interventions. Shri Alok Tripathi also hold responsibility of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) as Executive Director to drive programs relating to fuel conservation & environment sustainability. The government of Indian has also appointed me on the board of US$ 1.75 billion Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) which gives an opportunity to continue connect with corporate sector besides the policy side of exposure as a Director in the Ministry. Shri  Tripathi also recently completed Master’s in Public Policy from Maxwell School, University of Syracuse, United States.
