Ms. Alka Nangia Arora IDAS (1991 ) presently Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Department of Agricultural Research and Education has been repatriated to her parent cadre .
Ms. Alka Nangia Arora is a seasoned officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), having joined the service in the 1991 batch. Throughout her career, she has held a variety of important positions within the Indian government. Notably, she served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), where she also took on the role of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC) in 2021.
In May 2022, she became the Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor at the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), with her tenure extended in 2024 until 2025. Additionally, Ms. Arora has previously served as Additional Commissioner (Handicrafts), contributing to the sector’s development. Her career reflects a strong background in public sector administration and financial management.
