Shri Akhilesh Srivastava presently Chief General Manager (IT & Highway Operations) in National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO)- Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) to implement 100% FASTag project across the country.
Shri Akhilesh Srivastava is a B Tech (Gold Medal) from IIT , Global MBA from ISB, PG in InfraDevelopment from NICMAR and currently pursuing course in AI from Stanford University, USA .
Shri Srivastava is one of the most tech-savvy senior government official known globally for his passion for innovative skills and Digital solutions. He is currently working as Chief General Manager (IT & Commercial Operations) in NHAI and is the real man behind the one of the most successful digital program – FASTag, the electronic toll collection system on national highways. In last 4 years at NHAI, he has modernised the Indian highway sector with introduction of IOT devices and latest digital technologies in the project life cycle of highways. Completed geo-fencing the national highways and developed user friendly Mobile Apps. His recent initiative of development of AI based Big data platform – NHAI Data Lake is in the national news since the last few months and has transformed NHAI into first fully Digital construction sector organisation of the country.
- He is a pioneer of ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) and was member of ITS policy drafting committee. He is also Member of Bureau of Indian Standards : ITS committee and International Committee WG-5 on ITS.
- Apart from these he development of India’s 1st Online Dispute Portal (ODR) with CIDC launched by Vice President of India -2017,
- He authored one of the bestselling book of 2019 – Digital Construction Management, which talks about mass scale adoption of IR – 4.0 (Industrial Revolution – 4.0) technologies in the construction sector.
- He is member of many committees of BIS, IITs, ECI and CIDC.
