Last month, Institute Of Directors, India organized Global Convention on “Corporate Ethics and Risk Management” , in association with Bombay Stock Exchange during 17-18 February, 2017 at Mumbai. RIMS – the risk management society, USA was the Principal Partner & Thomson Reuters, UK was the Theme Partner for the event. Golden Peacock Awards were also presented during the Convention. Mr. Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group was conferred the Golden Peacock Life Time Achievement Award for Ethical Leadership. In his acceptance speech, he said ‘Corporate Ethics and Risk Management are important for good corporate governance which will add great value to India’s business and image’.
Integrity and Ethical conduct were emphasized as a must for creating a suitable risk management framework. Mr. Phil Cotter, Managing Director, Thomson Reuters, Risk Business, UK in his Theme Address emphasized that new technologies and new business models are associated with more risks but also with opportunities. Success depends on testing the risk management system and risk appetite of the concerned corporate.
