AAI is hosting ACI Asia-Pacific Regional HR Committee Meeting during 12th-14th November, 2019 in New Delhi. The ACI Asia-Pacific Regional HR Committee comprises of HR professionals representing respective airport members in the region. Committee members gather twice-yearly to discuss and share best practices with a view to promote HR excellence and standards among airports in Asia-Pacific. The theme for this meeting is “HR Readiness for Future Airports”. Around 30 delegates across 10 countries and regions are participating in the meeting.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Member (HR), AAI Shri Anuj Aggarwal. and the representatives of various airports of the region.. During his address, Shri Aggarwal emphasized on the changing scenario of civil aviation Sector across the globe and India in particular. He also highlighted the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN) of Government of India which is fueling growth in this sector by opening up new air routes and augmenting airport infrastructure, especially at unserved and underserved airports. He said that with the rapid flow of changes in aviation sector, we need to focus on the key challenges for airports as well as HR fraternity in terms of building skills, adopting technology and catering to the needs of multi-generational workforce. Also, Mr Sanjay Jain, Executive Director (HR), shared the key HR practices adopted by AAI for preparing its employees for the future.
During the three-day meet, participants shall deliberate on the future trends of airport development and the HR interventions required to match airport requirements. Focus will be laid on identification of critical skills in future work environment, role of technology in improving HR processes and implementing strategies to cater to diverse needs of employees. The meeting is being facilitated by Dr Sanyukta Jolly, Professor, IILM Institute of Higher Education, New Delhi
