Shri A. G. West Kharkongor presently posted as CMD, NEEPCO Ltd has been given Additional Charge of the post of Director (Finance), North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) for a period of three months .
Shri Kharkongor as NEEPCO CMD till his superannuation on August 31, 2019, Department of Personnel and Training said in its order.
NEEPCO was created in 1976 to plan, investigate, design, construct, generate, operate and maintain power stations in the north eastern region. The corporation is under the Ministry of Power and is conferred with the Schedule A- Miniratna Category-I central public sector enterprises status by the government of India.
Kharkongor joined NEEPCO in 1993 and was appointed Director (Finance) of the corporation on August 19, 2010. He is an alumnus of IIT, Bombay as well as IIM, Calcutta,
Shri Kharkongor is an experienced professional who has arranged the financing of all the major projects of NEEPCO. He started his career with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. He is a member of Finance Committee of the Tezpur University, Assam. He was also a member (Finance) of Damodar Valley Corporation, Kolkata from April 2013 to October 2014.
