8 IAS Officers upgraded to Special Secretary Level, Government of India | The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved in-situ upgradation of 8 IAS Officers to the level of Special Secretary ( rank and pay of Secretary, GoI) , the names of the officers are:

  1. Shri Saurabh Garg IAS (OR 1991) currently Chief Executive Officer- Unique Identification Authority of India appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India .
  2. Shri T K Ramachandran IAS (TN 1991) currently Chairman, V.0. Chidambaranar Port Trust, Tuticorin, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways appointed as Chairman, V.0. Chidambaranar Port Trust, Tuticorin, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways .
  3. Shri G Asok Kumar IAS (TG 1991) currently Director General- National Mission for Clean Ganga, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti appointed as Director General, National Mission for Clean Ganga, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti .
  4. Shri S Gopalakrishnan IAS (TN 1991) currently Additional Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare.
  5. Ms. Sumita Dawra IAS (AP 1991) currently Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry appointed as Special Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
  6. Shri Rajit Punhani IAS (BH 1991) currently Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Home Affairs appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Home Affairs.
  7. Ms. Debashree Mukherjee IAS (UT 1991)currently Additional Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  8. Ms. Nivedita Shukla Verma IAS (UP 1991) currently Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.
