6 Corporate champions bag FICCI Road Safety Awards 2018

Six corporates which are championing the cause of road safety were  felicitated here today with FICCI Road Safety Awards by Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, at the FICCI Seminar on Road Safety 2018.

The six companies are: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Mundra), Amazon India, The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd., Shell India Markets Private Ltd., Hindustan Coca Cola beverages Pvt. Ltd. and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., located in Mundra bagged the Road Safety Champion of the Year Award for its road safety initiative Parivartan Drive. This initiative resulted in a 25 per cent reduction in road incidents at the location, prevented intermingling of LMVs with two-wheelers, reduced traffic violations and achieved slowing down of vehicles resulting in lesser accidents.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd. was awarded under Community Programs in Road Safety for its Ride Safe India initiative This initiative includes adopting traffic parks in several locations around the country, and setting up of Two-Wheeler Riding Schools across multiple locations in the country. This initiative helped more than 1,500 girls in obtaining Learner License, and total 1,675 women riders were trained through this initiative.

Amazon India was conferred the award for Innovative Educational Program for Raising Awarenessin Road Safety for North Mavericks Ki Superpower – Zero out on route injury Campaign.Implementation of this program two-wheeler training program resulted in a steep reduction in 2-wheeler road accidents by around 50 per cent.

The Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd. was bestowed with the Innovation in Product and Services in Road Safety Award for its Driver State Monitoring Systems initiative targeted to enhance well-being of the drivers. This initiative is helping prevent  over 4 major accidents per truck on an average and is also giving visibility of driver?s behaviour to fleet owners/managers.  

Hindustan Coca Cola beverages Pvt Ltd. bagged the Safe Driving Award for Safe Driving Driver & Safe Vehicles initiative that enhances the capacity of transporters and drivers to develop and implement road safety strategies and plans.

Shell India Markets Private Ltd. bagged the Initiatives under Journey Risk Management Award for its Journey Management Planning initiative that has resulted in zero fatality in last 10 years along with a 90 per cent rise in near miss/potential incident reporting by drivers in last four years.
