Shri Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC, India’s premier Hydropower company delivered the Keynote address at the 15th Annual Conference on Hydropower in India organized by India Infrastructure at New Delhi on 22nd January 2018.
In his address, Shri Joshi presented an insight into the Indian power sector and showcased the role played by NHPC towards development of the hydropower in the country. Shri Joshi spoke about the enormous scope of hydropower development in India and also highlighted the advantages of hydropower as being environmentally benign and non-polluting source of power. He also emphasized the role of Hydro Policy in development of Hydropower by Public as well as Private sector.
