The Assam Government has initiated a significant administrative reshuffle, announcing the transfer of 11 key IAS and ACS officers effective immediately. This strategic move marks another phase in the state’s ongoing efforts to streamline governance, enhance departmental coherence, and reinforce citizen-centric public service delivery. Officers have been reassigned across crucial departments and district postings to infuse fresh leadership and ensure effective implementation of state priorities.

  1. Smt Varnali Deka IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2009) presently District Commissioner- Nalbari is now appointed as Commissioner & Secretary – General Administration Department, Assam.
  2. Shri Devasish Sharma IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2011) presently District Commissioner, Morigaon and Joint Resident Commissioner- Assam Bhawan, Mumbai (addl.) now appointed as District Commissioner, Nagaon, Assam and given additional charge as Joint Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, Mumbai .
  3. Shri Khanindra Choudhury IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2011) presently District Commissioner, Goalpara is now appointed as Secretary to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam.
  4. Shri Narendra Shah IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2016) presently District Commissioner, Nagaon is now appointed as Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam and MD, AIIDC as additional charge.
  5. Shri Nivedan Das Patowary ACS (DR 1997) presently Joint Secretary – P&RD and MD, ASRLM (addl.) is now appointed as District Commissioner, Nalbari, Assam.
  6. Shri Pradip Timung ACS (DR 1997) presently Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam and MD, Assam State Warehousing Corporation (addl.) is now appointed as District Commissioner, Goalpara, Assam.
  7. Smti Anamika Tewari ACS (DR 1997) presently Joint Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Labour Welfare Department and Commissioner of Labour (addl.), Assam and is now appointed as District Commissioner, Morigaon, Assam.
  8. Shri Kuntal Moni Sarmah Bordoloi IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2020) presently Joint Secretary – Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department and OSD to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam (addl.) is now appointed as Joint Secretary – P&RD and MD, ASRLM and OSD to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam as additional charges.
  9. Shri Virendra Mittal IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2007) presently Commissioner & Secretary – Finance Department and General Administration Department (addl.) and PD, ARIAS (addl.) is relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner & Secretary – General Administration Department, Assam.
  10. Shri Anant Lal Gyani IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2011) presently Secretary, Revenue & DM Deptt. & Additional Chief Executive Officer- ASDMA and Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam (addl.) and Project Director, Assam Integrated River Basin Management project under PIU, ASDMA Kamrup (M) is relieved from the additional charge of Director- Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam.
  11. Dr. P Uday Praveen IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2016) presently Secretary- Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises Department, MD- AIIDC (addl.) and Director- Innovation, Incubation and Start-ups (addl.) and Drawing & Disbursement Officer (DDO) of the Directorate of Innovation, Incubation and Start-ups (addl.) & Director, Agriculture (addl.) is relieved from the additional charge of MD, AIIDC, Assam.
