WWF-India organises awareness activities during Wildlife Week

WWF-India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), organized a series of awareness activities during Wildlife Week, observed from 2nd to 8th October, under the banner of Mission LiFE. The primary goal was to highlight the significance of wildlife conservation and its connection to climate change, particularly among students from multiple schools in Delhi. The theme for this year’s Wildlife Week celebrations was “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.”

The Programme Centre at WWF-India, MoEF&CC, focuses on wildlife conservation, including species and habitat preservation, using geospatial techniques. As part of the celebrations, students from various schools in Delhi were provided insights into Wildlife Week, its importance, and the theme of “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.” The WWF-India team shared the mission’s message through a 12-minute documentary video, and students and teachers took the Pledge. This initiative engaged approximately 864 participants, and the students expressed keen interest in learning more about wildlife conservation and adopting eco-friendly lifestyle changes to combat climate change. The overall goal of these activities was to foster awareness and a sense of responsibility towards wildlife and the environment among the younger generation.
