West Bengal IPS Reshuffle- Senior-Level Changes, Key Security & Intelligence Positions

In another key change, Shri Supratim Sarkar IPS, who was serving as Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General (ADG), CID, West Bengal, with additional charge of ADG, Intelligence Branch (IB), Kolkata. Shri Laxmi Narayan Meena IPS, earlier serving as ADG & IGP, CID, West Bengal, has been moved to the role of ADG, Correctional Services, West Bengal. In his new assignment, he will be responsible for overseeing prison administration and correctional systems, a critical component of the criminal justice framework.
Completing the reshuffle, Shri Vineet Kumar Goyal IPS, who was serving as DG & IGP (Law & Order), West Bengal with additional charge of DGP, Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), has been appointed as DG & IGP, Intelligence Branch (IB), West Bengal, with additional charge of DGP, ACB. This move places him at the helm of the state’s intelligence network, a crucial role in maintaining internal security and proactive policing.
