Shri Vivek Aggarwal IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1994), presently on central deputation and posted as Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is given additional charge of Secretary – Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, New Delhi, till joining of Dr Srivatsa Krishna IAS (Karnataka 1994).

Dr Srivatsa Krishna IAS, currently serves as the Principal Secretary to the Government of Karnataka. An officer of exceptional academic distinction, he secured the All-India Rank 1 in the Civil Services Examination in 1994—standing first among nearly half a million candidates—and received the President of India’s Gold Medal upon joining the Indian Administrative Service.
In the early stages of his career, he played a key role in pioneering India’s e-governance initiatives and was part of the leadership team that created Cyberabad, one of Asia’s most influential IT and investment hubs. The project attracted major Fortune 500 corporations including Microsoft, Google, HSBC, General Electric, IBM, and Oracle, and was later valued at USD 5.2 billion by a Goldman Sachs BRICS report.
He became the first serving IAS officer to complete an MBA from Harvard Business School and is also an alumnus of Oxford University. At Harvard, he co-authored research with Prof. Michael Porter on India’s competitiveness and with Prof. Clayton Christensen on innovation-led growth in emerging markets.
Recognised internationally, Dr Srivatsa Krishna was named one of the “Top 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow” by the World Economic Forum at Davos in 2003. Thinkers50 also listed him among India’s top 50 thinkers in 2013. His global exposure includes leading studies on PPP and private equity regulation for the Government of India, and serving in the Strategy, Finance and Risk Management Vice Presidency at the World Bank, where he co-managed a USD 2 billion annual fund and contributed to major infrastructure projects across 18 countries.
He sits on global advisory boards, writes for leading publications, and appears regularly on national and international media platforms. Alongside his administrative responsibilities, he is completing his PhD at IIT Madras and has pursued artistic interests, including playback singing for a Bollywood film inspired by the journey of an IAS officer.
