The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to change its sugarcane price fixation policy from next crushing season. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced it yesterday after meeting with representatives of sugarcane millers.

He directed the officials to follow the Maharashtra and Karnataka government’s pricing policies of sugarcane and implement the good and pro farmers points of their policies.Yogi Adityanath said, the farmers of both the states are getting reasonable prices of their product due to the policies adopted by the state governments. He asked the millers to insure the payments to the sugarcane farmers within 14 days.

The Chief Minister also directed to expedite the works of five new sugar mills being set up at Rasara, Pipraich, Pilibhit, Sanjhapur and Munderawa on priority basis. He said, all possible measures must be taken to re-energise the closed mills.
