Shri Tsewang Namgyal IFS (1992), presently Ambassador of India to Cuba has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Poland. He is expected to take up his assignment shortly.Shri Tsewang Namgyal born in 1961, Mr. Tsewang Namgyal graduated from the University of Delhi and has a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
Shri Tsewang Namgyal joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1992. He has served in various Indian diplomatic Missions abroad as well as at the Headquarters. These include postings as Third Secretary, Embassy of India, Cairo (1994-96); Second Secretary/First Secretary, Embassy of India, Tunis (1996-00); First Secretary, Embassy of India, Brussels (2000-03), Counsellor, Embassy of India, Manila(2005-08) and Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission of India, Singapore (2008-13). At the Headquarters, he served as Director (Afghanistan & Iran), PIA Division, Ministry of External Affairs.
Shri Tsewang Namgyal assumed his current assignment as Ambassador of India to Cuba on 26 November 2015. Prior to his current assignment, he was Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission of India, Ottawa, Canada.
