Indian Bureaucracy News, Hyderabad, June 26, 2026 | In a significant mid-year bureaucratic overhaul, the Telangana government on Friday (26.06.2026) carried out a major reshuffle of senior IAS and non-cadre officers, reassigning nearly a dozen top officials. The exercise is aimed at streamlining portfolio management, rather than a piecemeal or ad hoc redistribution of departments.
Among the notable decisions, Sabyasachi Ghosh IAS (1994 batch) has been assigned additional charge of the Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts department. A senior officer in the state administration, Ghosh already oversees CSR, Tribal Welfare and Welfare portfolios. The inclusion of Handlooms within his charge may indicate an administrative emphasis on aligning traditional industries with key welfare and development sectors, particularly in a state where the handloom sector holds both economic and cultural significance.
B Ajith Reddy IAS has been appointed as a dedicated CEO of Invest Telangana. Having previously served as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, he brings relevant administrative experience. The move may indicate a more focused approach to investment promotion, a departure from the norm where investment promotion is often handled by the Industries Secretary as an additional charge.
For Shailaja Ramaiyer IAS, the assignment brings the dual responsibility of overseeing ecological sustainability alongside religious administration – a relatively uncommon and potentially demanding combination.

2. Smt Shailaja Ramaiyer IAS (Telangana 1997), presently Principal Secretary, Endowments, Revenue Department, Telangana, is transferred and posted as Principal Secretary – Environment, Forests, Science & Technology (EFS&T) Department, Telangana, with additional charge of Principal Secretary – Endowments, Revenue Department, and, Director General (DG) – Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI), relieving Shri Ahmad Nadeem IAS (Telangana 1997).
3. Shri Ahmad Nadeem IAS (Telangana 1997), presently Principal Secretary, Environment, Forests, Science & Technology (EFS&T) Department, Telangana, is transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary – Political, General Administration Department (GAD), Telangana, with additional charge of Principal Secretary – Minorities Welfare Department, relieving Shri M Raghunandan Rao IAS (Telangana 2000).
4. Shri N Sridhar IAS (Telangana 1997), presently Principal Secretary, Mines & Geology, Industries and Commerce Department, Telangana, is transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Telangana.
5. Shri Rahul Bojja IAS (Telangana 2000), presently Principal Secretary, Backward Class Welfare Department, Telangana, is posted as Principal Secretary – Disaster Management, Revenue Department, Telangana, relieving Smt Harichandana Dasari IAS (Telangana 2010), with additional charge of Principal Secretary – BC Welfare Department.
6. Shri M Raghunandan Rao IAS (Telangana 2002), presently Secretary, Commercial Taxes & Excise, Revenue Department, Telangana, is given additional charge of Secretary – Mines & Geology, Industries & Commerce Department, relieving Shri N Sridhar IAS (Telangana 1997).
7. Shri B Ajith Reddy IDES (2012), presently Special Secretary to Chief Minister, Telangana, is transferred and appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Invest Telangana, Industries & Commerce Department.
8. Shri Md Musharraf Ali Faruqui IAS (Telangana 2014), presently Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Telangana Rythu Power Distribution Company Limited (TGRPDCL), is given additional charge of Vice-Chairman and Managing Director (VC & MD) – Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO).
9. Smt P Katyayani Devi IAS (Telangana 2017), presently Joint Managing Director, State Finance Corporation, Telangana, is transferred and posted as Special Secretary – Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts, I&C Department, with additional charge of Joint Managing Director – State Finance Corporation, Telangana.
10. Shri K Gangadhar IAS (Telangana 2021), presently Executive Director (ED), Telangana State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TGRERA), is transferred and posted as Special Secretary – Roads and Buildings (R&B), Telangana R&B Department, relieving Smt P Pravinya IAS (Telangana 2016).
11. Shri T Venkanna, presently Joint Metropolitan Commissioner, Core Urban Region & Metro Rail, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), is transferred and posted as Municipal Commissioner – Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), Warangal, relieving Smt Chahat Bajpai IAS (Telangana 2019).
12. Shri K Vidyasagar, presently Joint Director, Administration, SSLR, and OSD to Chief Secretary, Telangana, is transferred and posted as Director – Tourism, Telangana, with additional charge of State Nodal Officer – Prajavani, relieving Smt D Divya IAS (Telangana 2010).
13. Smt K Chandrakala, presently Zonal Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Shamshabad, is given additional charge of Joint Metropolitan Commissioner – Core Urban Region, Land Pooling & Metro Rail, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
