As part of the nationwide ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign (one of the most
significant mass movements for cleanliness), ‘Swachhata Pakhwada 2024’ was
celebrated at the Directorate of Ordnance (C&S), Ministry of Defence, Ayudh
Bhawan, Kolkata from December 1 to 15.
The initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and fostering a sense of collective responsibility for environmental sustainability. The campaign was inaugurated by Shri Sanjeev Gupta, Director General Ordnance, which commenced with Mass Swachhata Shapath (pledge) administered to all officers and employees. Emphasizing the need for sustained cleanliness efforts so that our surroundings remain clean, various activities were undertaken by this office which include– cleanliness and disposal drive, tree plantations, seminars, mini marathon, essay writing and drawing competitions etc.
