The State Trading Corporation of India Ltd. (STC) has today completed 60 years of existence as a premier trading company of the Govt. of India. During its voyage of six decades, the Corporation has successfully contributed to the development of foreign trade of the country, achieving many noteworthy milestones. It has also served the national objective of arranging import/export of items in excess/short supply in the domestic markets.
As mark of celebration of the 60th year, a function was held in the Ministry of Commerce in which Commerce Secretary Ms. Rita Teaotia was the Chief Guest. Sh. Khaleel Rahim, CMD-STC and all the Directors of STC were also present. To commemorate this momentous occasion, a Special Cover was released by the Chief Postmaster General, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khaleel Rahim, CMD-STC informed that STC is restructuring itself to take maximum advantage of the emerging trade opportunities and expressed confidence in the Corporation’s ability to attain yet greater heights.
