Following the Special Campaign 2.0 held in October 2022, the Department of Sports, along with its affiliated organizations including the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), National Sports University (NSU), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL), continued their efforts towards cleanliness and reducing pending matters.

Special Campaign 2.0 was initiated by the Department on October 2, 2022, identifying 133 sites across India for implementation. The cleanliness drive encompassed the main Secretariat, SAI and its field offices, LNIPE Gwalior, NSU Manipur, NDTL, and NADA. Notably, the campaign achieved a 100% disposal rate for State Government references, PMO Public Grievances cases, and Public Grievances cases.

The follow-up actions persisted even after the conclusion of Special Campaign 2.0. From December 2022 to August 2023, approximately 125 cleanliness campaigns were conducted, resulting in the liberation of about 58678 square feet of space and generating revenue of Rs. 14,755 through scrap disposal. In the same period, 510 Public Grievance cases, 231 VIP references, and 43 State Government references were addressed, with 950 files being cleared out.

To promote a paperless work environment, the Department of Sports has adopted e-office implementation. Additionally, for enhanced transparency and efficiency, portals for National Sports Federation and Infrastructure Project under the Khelo India Scheme were launched on National Sports Day, August 29, 2023.

The Department of Sports, along with its affiliated organizations, will participate in Special Campaign 3.0 scheduled from October 2, 2023, to October 31, 2023, with a focus on institutionalizing cleanliness and minimizing pending matters. Special attention will be directed towards field and outstation offices during this campaign. Special Campaign 2.0 encompassed all Ministries/Departments of the Government of India and their attached/subordinate offices, and it was carried out in two phases. In Phase-1, efforts were made to sensitize officers, mobilize ground-level functionaries, identify pending matters, finalize campaign sites, and determine scrap and redundant materials for disposal in compliance with established procedures. The campaign particularly emphasized field and outstation offices in addition to Ministries/Departments and their attached/subordinate offices, giving special attention to offices with public interface and service delivery responsibilities.

During Phase-2, Ministries/Departments diligently worked towards disposing of all identified references and pending matters from October 2, 2022, to October 31, 2022, with the progress being reported on the SCPDM portal.
