A Committee was constituted for putting up consolidated proposal for creation of ‘Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh(RRSK)’, a non-lapsable fund. The committee has submitted its report in December 2015. The committee in its report has envisaged the works of Track Renewal and Upgradation, Bridge Rehabilitation, Elimination of Level Crossings, Construction of Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges, Replacement and Improvement of Signalling System, Improvement and Upgradation of Rolling Stock, Replacement of Electrical Assets and Human Resource Development at a total cost of Rs.1,19,183 at current price level.
