Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda has said that the commitment towards Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas is reflected in the initiatives taken by the government in the last three years. Briefing media in New Delhi on achievement of his Ministry this morning, Mr Gowda said, the Centre has formally adopted the UN Fundamental Principles of Statistics which reiterates its commitment to good governance.

He said, his Ministry has planned to revise the base year of National Accounts Statistics to 2017-18.

He said, the Ministry is exploring Development of a Factsheet on Indian Economy which aims to provide a National Factsheet, wherein various source Ministries will provide quarterly data on 100 important indicators.

He said, the factsheet will facilitate decision making at the senior levels of the government. Mr Gowda said, a robust statistical system needs to be in place for collection, validation, compilation and dissemination of data.

The Minister said, his Ministry has developed a new Integrated MPLADS Portal for use of all stakeholders which ensures transparency and efficiency.

He said, more than 90 per cent of MPLADS fund have been utilised. Mr Gowda said, they have made it mandatory for the durable assets created under MPLADS to be disabled-friendly wherever feasible.

Mr Gowda said, his Ministry has launched the Periodic Labour Force Survey from April this year, which will give data on distribution of workers by industry and occupation.

He said, government hopes to have employment data for urban areas every quarter, while that for rural areas on annual basis. He said, the Ministry has planned to conduct a survey on Disability and Sanitation, Hygiene to access the condition of the farmers and villagers from next year.

He also informed about a rapid survey conducted by his Ministry on Swachhta Status during May-June last year covering 3788 villages and 2907 urban blocks.
