The Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana assists the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in supervising and coordinating all election-related activities in the state. Operating under the Election Commission of India (ECI), the office ensures the smooth conduct of elections to the Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, and local bodies. The Additional CEO oversees tasks such as voter registration, electoral roll management, election staff training, awareness programs under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation), and enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. The position plays a vital role in ensuring transparency, fairness, and efficiency in the state’s electoral processes.
